About me

Hi, my name is Thomas, most people call me Tom or Tommy. I am a full time father and husband to my wonderful family. I also have a full time day job at a Solar Power Plant as a Journeyman Welder/ Maintenance Mechanic/Control Room Operator. Aside from all of that I am also a part time Firefighter and I also have all of this! Woodworking and metal working at home as a hobby, possible small business.

Woodworking

I have only been woodworking for 3 yrs now and I do not have any formal training or schooling for it. I do plan on persueing some training and schooling such as classes and demos locally, but for now, everything I know has come from the Internet. I owe everything I know to Online Content Creators like Jay Bates, Paul Sellers, Mark Spagnuolo, Nick Ferry and many many others.

Video Content Creator

Shortly after getting into woodworking and watching videos upon videos to try and get a grasp on how to do things, I decided to try making video content myself. Now, they are far from anything great, I still have plenty of room for improvement. But I do try my best and get out videos on everything from shop projects to yard furniture to Lathe Turning pens and beer tap handles and many other things. In 2016 I have just about reached 5000 subscribers and my goal for the end of the year is to reach 10000 subscribers. If you havent checked out my videos or subscribed, go check it out! Metal working

I also mentioned that I do metal working. I have been a welderfor 26yrs. I have been welding since I was 14 yrs old in my fathers garage making BBQs from barrels and tons of other random things. I have working in many fabrication shops from BBQ island and waterfall framing, Water Storage Tanks, Extending tractor framing for farm equipment, Maintenence welding at cement plants and Solar plants and many other things. I have gone to school for welding to get AWS Certified in all welding processes as well as Blueprinting for welding. I have also done a bit of Machining but I am by far a machinist! So I have always had a passion for building things with my hands, so it came as no suprise when I started getting into woodworking that I fell in love with that just as much as I have loved metal working!

Electronics

Yes I also dabble in electronics and electrical, but I am no electrician or professional tech! I have built mine, my sons my wifes and about a dozen other computers. I have fixed XBOXs, Phones and other electronics. I have also wired the shop (garage) in order to work in it, when I started I only had 1 outlet and 1 very dim light!
